this one was painted a bit chaotically, a bit manically, and I think at one point it was turned upside down and started over, and I really can’t think of a better metaphor of life. yes the colors are happy, and the scene supposedly peaceful, but can you detect a hint of sadness? do you feel as if you’re sinking into the shadows as the day changes from evening to dark, and maybe anxieties creep in when the light shifts for you like it does for me? and maybe it feels like the chill of the dusk breeze will blow away the warmth of the fading sun forever. it’s just you, the rustling reeds, the whispering leaves and a day gone by.
