“dizzy" originally painted on a 36x36 canvas, the largest I'd ever painted on, and named for the way I’d been feeling -- & because frustrated, confused, and exhausted just didn't sound as good. I was in the process of making peace with some new normals in my life and just wanted to mess something up. this was my first experience with intuitive painting. I didn’t realize I had painted a red boat until my friend pointed it out to me. do you see a figure in the boat? are her arms raised in surrender to a larger figure, who is, somehow, in the boat with her? these are things I see, now, as a spectator. in the moment, I was just painting.
